Aiko's Story
(Aiko when we were finished)
"In April 2008 my three year old Beagle/Lab mix Aiko developed a tumor that when removed came back as mast cell cancer, grade 2, stage 3 (meaning the cancer had spread to the lymph nodes).
We started chemotherapy immediately and Lisa began working with him once his treatments were done.
Aiko was bloated and lethargic from the prednisone he was prescribed as part of the chemotherapy process. He had the hair around his ankles shaved where he received chemo injections, and would lick the area incessantly to the point of having “hot spots” where the skin was irritated and the hair wouldn’t grow.
Lisa’s knowledge and understanding of Healing Touch for Animals and Reiki were evident from the first visit, and she used a variety of techniques depending on what Aiko needed at the time, including tuning forks, light therapy and essential oils.
Aiko thoroughly enjoyed Lisa’s visits and the treatments left him relaxed, yet energetic. Aiko’s older sister, Nala, often sat close to soak up some of the good energy he was getting!

The most drastic “visible” change was with the “hot spots” on Aiko’s legs. After trying to care for them myself for weeks, Lisa gave me a mixture of oils and ointment to use and within days the redness and irritation was gone.
Now, three years after his initial diagnosis, Aiko remains cancer free. We've continued our appointments with Lisa every few months as a preventative measure, and since he loves her visits so much! His odds of survival were slim, and the odds of reoccurring tumors were high. I credit Lisa’s work coupled with the veterinary care he received as the reason he is a happy and healthy dog today! "
